Barracuda Malware Removal Tool

The Barracuda Malware Removal Tool performs a comprehensive scan of your computer for any traces of spyware or other malware. This scan is very thorough and takes several minutes to complete. After the analysis is finished, you can remove all the malware and traces of malware that have been found. Please note that you must log into the system as a local-administrator to be able to run this tool.

The analysis and removal of spyware and other malware from your Barracuda Web Filter includes detecting and removing many small traces, cookies, potential spyware files, and temporary files from your computer. Many of these items pose a minor risk and blocking them can cause some Web sites to malfunction; therefore, the Barracuda Web Filter does not block them at the network level.

As such, the Barracuda Malware Removal Tool (a customized version of Malwarebytes) will typically identify items for removal that are not blocked at the network level by the Barracuda Web Filter.

For maximum security, complete removal of these files from your computer is recommended.

Barracuda Malware Removal Tool Downloads
* b-mrt-setup.exe (8,765 KB) for PC (Right-click and save as)
* b-mrt-setup.zip (8,741 KB) for PC that blocks .exe downloads
* b-mrt-setup.dmg (8,054 KB) for Macs

What You Should Know
Malwarebytes will no longer let the Barracuda Malware Removal Tool program connect to their servers to do an update. Due to this, if you do not have an old version of Malwarebytes, you will be forced to get the limited version which only scans, detect but will not remove the threat unless you upgrade. If the threats detected are installers and have not yet compromised your registry, you can then follow the path to the location of the infecting files and eradicate them manually. If you must reformat your storage, create frequent restore points to protect the system.
