Domain Privacy

Did you know that domain privacy is a service offered by a number of domain name registrars? It cloaks your information to prevent marketing calls, junk mail and email spam but it is only useful to you if you activate the service while registering the domain name.

If you register the domain without letting it be private at start, someone can still see the information in a archive (usually for a small fee) and can gather the info for their database, contact you if the information is still current or even worse, have some information to use for identity theft.
