Some owners and even computer technicians have trouble learning how to scan with a Canon imageCLASS MF4450. If that applies to you or your end-user, please follow review the issues with a Canon imageCLASS Printer first and then come back and follow the tips that I have provided below to get started.

Hardware (Canon imageCLASS MF4450)

  1. Place your document in the FEEDER or on the FLATBED.
  2. Press the SCAN button on the Canon imageCLASS MF4450.
  3. Scroll to COMPUTER using the arrow keys.
  4. Press the OK button.
  5. Scroll to COLOR SCAN or B&W SCAN.
  6. Press the OK button.
  7. Scroll to CONFIRM DESTINATION.
  8. Press the OK button.
  9. Run over to your Hackintosh or HackBook that is running Windows or macOS.

Software (Windows OS)

  1. Double click on the MF4450 (See Note) icon on the desktop.
  2. Under the source option, choose FLATBED or FEEDER.
  3. Click on the SCAN button and wait 60 seconds.
  4. When prompted, click the IMPORT button.

Note: If the shortcut or icon is missing from the desktop for the Canon imageCLASS MF4450, you can add it from the Control Panel under Devices and Printers by right-clicking the scanner and then choosing the option of sending it to Windows desktop. To make sure that shortcut is available to any local or network account on the computer, you will need to use an account with Local Administrator access to move the desktop shortcut to the Public Desktop folder.

Software (macOS)

  1. You will need to have MacOS 10.8/10.9/10.10/10.11/10.12/10.13
