Solving Network Connection Problems

Do you need help solving network connection problems? These can be fixed very easily but it can be difficult to diagnose what issues are the culprit. Here are some known issues to aid you in solving the problem(s) quickly.

Wireless Connections
* A wireless network adapter switch that’s not enabled
* WEP, WPA, or WPA2 security key or passphrase issues
* Corrupted or incompatible drivers
* Missing updates
* Network connection settings
* Hardware or software problems
* Expired or Incorrect SSL Certificates

Wired Connections
* Cables that aren’t connected properly
* Corrupted or incompatible drivers
* Missing updates
* Network connection settings
* Hardware or software problems
* Expired or Incorrect SSL Certificates

Tip: It is a good idea to have a USB Flash Drive where you can store drivers for the wireless device and network interface card. For help choosing USB Flash Drive sizes, see the related article. This way, if the drivers are corrupted and have to be removed, you can reload them as the device will not be able to go online or to a network folder where backups are kept.
