Making Crossover Cables by Hand

Wednesday, April 23, 2003 Articles, Tips Comments Off on Making Crossover Cables by Hand

Here are a few tips in making Crossover cables by hand.

Length
Find out the minimum length of cable that you will need. Once you find the minimum amount, add one (1) inch to your minimum and cut the cable. By adding the additional length, you make it easy to repair the cable should you crimp the RJ45 incorrectly onto the cable and will need to cut off the RJ45 head which will unfortunately make the cable a bit shorter.
