Out of Paper

If you own or use a local or network printer, eventually, you will receive a message that the printer is out of paper and you will need to do one or more of the following to fix the problem.

Check the LCD Panel
Most users will want to check the trays to see if it ran out of paper but this is unnecessary as the LCD will tell you which tray it is looking for paper. Often, print jobs will try to go to the manual feed or Tray 1 area due to the page settings so being at the printer’s display screen will let you know if you have to bypass Tray 1 or add paper to Tray 2.

Empty Tray
Sometimes Tray 2 is full or Letter Size and Tray 3 is empty of Letter Size. This isn’t supposed to be a problem as the printer should start taking paper from Tray 2 but some printers will refuse to do so unless you walk over to printer and tel it that is your wish. Some users find this helpful if Tray 2 has Letterhead Paper while Tray 3 has Plain Paper.
