Penmanship

One important and overlooked tool for a technician is their penmanship. Most technicians feel that that can always “fire off” an email to the user or have them read or download the instructions from the Internet but this only works if the user and computer has access to these resources so a technician should always have two pens (black and red ink) and a pencil as well.

The red ink can be user to underline/highlight any important note you have written to the user in black ink and pencil for sensitive info like passwords so it can be erased before it is tossed out for shredding.

Before tossing out the used Post-It Notes, keep in mind that you can do maintenance with Post-It Notes on devices such as a monitor and keyboard.
