Public Folder on Dropbox

The Public folder on Dropbox lets you easily share single files in your Dropbox. Any file you put in that folder gets its own Internet link that you can share with others — even non-Dropbox users!

Step 1: Drop a file into the Public folder.
Step 2: Right-click on the file.
Step 3: Next, choose Dropbox > Copy Public Link.

This copies an Internet link to your hosted file that you can paste anywhere to a friend but remember, you can only link to actual files within your Public folder, not to folders. For more help with sharing files, please visit Dropbox.com.

Note: Because of this new sharing model, Dropbox accounts created after October 4, 2012 no longer have a Public folder. Don’t worry! Every account created prior to this date will still have a Public folder.
