SSH Protocol

Tuesday, June 17, 2003 Articles, Tips Comments Off on SSH Protocol

Why is SSH Protocol important? Well, did you know that everytime you login to a server through Telnet or FTP, your account’s username and password are being sent through the Internet unencrypted? That’s right and that means that a hacker, with a number of known methods, can intercept your transmission and obtain your password.

To stay safe, your hosting provider should support the SSH (Secure Shell) protocol to provide secure Telnet, FTP and POP3 transmissions over the Internet. By using a SSH compatible Telnet, FTP or email client, you can now feel safe knowing that all data you transmit is safe from the digital eyes of others.
