Here are some tips on troubleshooting slow performance on your computing devices. Some are optional (depending on your environment) and the order can be changed as well depending on the device or data being kept.

01. Restart the Computing Device
02. Run a Computer Diagnostic
03. Check Air Vents
04, Check Safe Mode for Symptoms
05. Check for Malware
06. Perform a Clean Boot in Windows
07. Update BIOS and Drivers
08. Update the Operating System
09. Uninstall, Reinstall, Update Software
10. Run Routine Maintenance
11. Use System Restore
12. Reinstall the Operating System

Restart the Computing Device
No matter how stable we try to make a program, it is bound to crash due to an internal or external force so restarting the device will give you are fresh start and clear the memory. If RAM can not be upgraded or expanded, try limiting your multitasking on the device.

Run a Computer Diagnostic
If you use the same device frequently, it will be second nature to tell what hardware is failing and to confirm, a diagnostic will confirm.
