Are there any difference between jpg and jpeg? They are both legitimate extensions for identical file types. The shorter three-character one was made to comply with the old DOS 8.3 filenaming convention that required a three character file extension.
Since you never know what systems will need to look at your data, it is best to use the shorter file extension for all your images if you plan to share them.
