Belts or Suspenders

How do you decide if you should choose belts or suspenders to go with your daily IT wear? Well, if the pants are missing loops, belts will be out of the question but if the pants have loops, how can you decide between the two? My advice, stick with suspenders and here is a breakdown of why you want to go this route with your IT wear.

Gravity
The force of gravity is always pulling down your pants and if you bend often during the day, you may find that your underwear will stick out over the waistband. With suspenders, you can relax knowing that your tighty whities are not showing to everyone in viewing distance.

Loops
As you may now know, not all pants have loops on them and not all loops on pants are the same width. Some loops are wide and some are very narrow so you may find out that the belt you have is too wide to go through the loops. If you own only one belt or they are all the same massive width, you may find yourself tugging at the waist of the beltless pants up a few times per hour when moving about providing technical support.

Notches
The notch on a belt can stretch over time. As a matter of fact, sometimes they rip making the belt too short and unprofessional for a job interview or service call.

Grommets
Some belts now have grommets in the notches to prevent the belt’s notches from tearing apart. Unfortunately on low quality belts, the grommets can fall out of the notches over time and being metal, can get stuck on your loops or rip off when inserting and removing the belt from the loops in the pants.
