Change the Search Engine in Chrome

Monday, April 28, 2003 Articles, Tips Comments Off on Change the Search Engine in Chrome

Some actions on the Internet will remove Google as your Search Engine. To change the Search Engine in Chrome, try the following.

1. Open and new Tab or Window in Google Chrome
2. Type chrome://settings
3. Scroll to Search
4. Now change the Search Engine in Chrome.

If an unwanted action caused you to loose your desired Search Engine, go to the ‘Extensions’ tab and look for a plugin that could have been the culprit. It will usually say that it was installed outside of the Chrome Store. In the future, this will be less likely to happen as Google is planning on making it difficult for Google Chrome to install extensions that are not on the Chrome Store.

The following two tabs change content below.
