Hacking a Protected Computer

Thursday, December 18, 2003 Articles, Tips Comments Off on Hacking a Protected Computer

One of the coolest things that I like to do is hacking a protected computer. Sometimes, software or hardware tools are required but often all that I need is my crafty mind.

BIOS Password
Did someone set a BIOS password to keep you out? Ha! Ha! Noobs. If the case can be opened as it lacks a padlock or security cable I can crack the BIOS password in under a minute on a desktop system. A laptop system will take much a bit longer and will require me to use my precision tool kit but to save time, I will usually get the master unlock code from the manufacturer or online database that can look it up from the Service Tag.
