Converting a PDF File to an Excel File

Did you receive a tally report in PDF and need data from it to forward on in your Excel file? It happens from time to time to other users and if you have access to Microsoft 365, you won’t have any issues converting a PDF file to an Excel file.

The steps are as simple as having a licensed copy of Microsoft 365 then follow the steps on importing a PDF file to an Excel file. You can do this in a blank file or backup your main Excel file and then import into the backup.

1. Open Microsoft Excel 365 (a version newer than Excel 2019).
2. Select Data.
3. Get Data from a File.
4. Get Data from a PDF File.
5. Import.
6. Select all checkboxes.
7. Transform Data.
8. Close the window and save.
9. Delete any worksheet not needed.
10. Save the Excel file. Keep saving after every change.
