Here are some file formats for scanned documents.

* BMP (Microsoft Windows Bitmap)
* JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)
* JPG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)
* PDF (Portable Document Format)
* PNG (Portable Network Graphic)
* RTF (Rich Text Document)
* TIF (Tagged Image File Format)
* TIFF (Tagged Image File Format)
* TXT (Text File)

If your scanning program does not support Scanning to PDF, you will need Adobe Pro XI and utilize the “Create to Scan” function.
