Print to Shared Printers

Wednesday, April 16, 2003 Articles, Tips Comments Off on Print to Shared Printers

When helping others to print to shared printers, the most overlooked detail is forgetting to tell the users to always keep the computer that will be physically connected by a cable (USB, Parallel, Serial, etc) to the shared printer powered on as if the computer is powered down, the connected users will loose access to the shared printer. Always remember to do this or you may constantly get asked on Monday’s (due to the computer being shutdown on Friday) by the connected users for help to print once more as the printer shows offline.
