Six Beeps on a Dell PC

Friday, October 17, 2003 Articles, Tips Comments Off on Six Beeps on a Dell PC

Are you hearing six beeps on a Dell PC when you attempt to power it on? If so, there are a few things to check if you did not open the case of the computer.

Keyboard
If a key is stuck on your keyboard, you will hear beeps upon start. It will more likely sound like you dropped coins doing a flight of stairs.

Memory
If you hear a Beep, Beep Beep Beep, Beep, Beep, it is the memory. Notice the 1-3-1-1 pattern and not 1-1-1-1-1-1. At first, it may sound like that to you but after reading this, the pattern that I have mentioned will now be stuck in your mind.
