Minimum Memory for Computing

Do you know the minimum memory for computing? Most users do not know and find themselves in trouble when their device is at the max and will not support their needed Operating System or Software Programs.

There will be agreements and disagreements but these are the amount of memory that you should you have in your laptop or desktop for it to perform well is listed below.

Bare Minimum – Recommended 
Windows XP: 0.5 GB/512 MB – 1 GB/1024 MB
Windows Vista: 2 GB/2048 MB – 4 GB/4096 MB
Windows 7: 2 GB/2048 MB – 4 GB/4096 MB
Windows 8: 4 GB/4096 MB – 8 GB/8192 MB

Please keep in mind that updates to the OS or internal hardware may require additional memory and you might be able to compensate with virtual memory.
